Better Late Than Never: A Birth Worth Celebrating.
Hey, better late than never right?
On the 15th of January of 1929 MLK jr was born into this world. He would grow up to become one of the most influential people ever born. His lifetime left a fingerprint on the very fabric of society makeup and composition of this nation in a major and compelling way. The fingerprint of his lifetime will be felt and seen, and may even pop up in the extremely rare instance that it’s needed. world, into this world ., easily one of the most influential figures in my own personal growth and development journey and that of so many others was born.
Who knows where this nation would be, were he still here if he were with us still today; would the protests and the #BlackLivesMatter or #BlackBrunch #EricGarner and #Ferguson campaigns would still be going on?.
Tragedy Strikes @ The Lorraine Motel Memphis, TN-April 4, 1968
A Great Leader Is Taken From Us Far Too Soon.
Dr. King’s life, his wisdom, and his leadership were stripped from us that fateful day, April 1968, robbing us of what surely would have been a calming voice of reason, drowning out the angry din of the turbulent times that lie behind us, and those that lay ahead. His moral judgement serving as a nautical star, always guiding us towards that promised land, the one he dreamed of; where all men are created equal and judged only by the content of their character and not the color of their skin.
It Is His Day After All
In honor of his birthday, his name day and his me-mo-ray(that’s memory for the illiterates amongst you), I shared some of his stuff below, beginning with speech about that dream his name came to become synonymous with.
Obviously Dr. King can’t take all the credit for the entire civil rights movement, much as the media among other people would like to just give it to him. There were people and organizations fighting for the rights of African-Americans long before Dr. King ever got sent to Montgomery, or got the spotlight from the boycotts, but his pre-eminent role as the representative and face of the larger movement as a whole can’t be denied either,
He was merely upholding a tradition kept alive by all those who have fought for equality from the inside like A Philip Randolph who threatened to march on washington if African-Americans weren’t included to begin with. No more of this playing game and shit with your crappy ass little weaves or whatever the fuck you put in there. within their tribe or their own mind that we really don’t need to have any one there for it, because it’s just been one like
These Times, They Are A Changin:
From the time the Montgomery Bus Boycott began in 1955 until the his death in 1968 and even beyond; Dr King and the rest of the movement took the battle to the power structure and not vice versa, continuously applying pressure. in well thought out places In attacking racism and discrimination where it existed and was most vehement; the lunch counters, the bus stops, and the polling place, of the deep south, they not only placed the entire practice of Jim Crow on display, they put it on trial in the court of public opinion, a battle Jim Crow eventually lost.
The Civil Rights Movement’s creative use of non violent direct action to frame and challenge the Jim Crow laws of the South met with violence and repression at the hands of small town police, members of the KKK, or just your garden variety, small-minded, red neck prick; most of which viewed by Americans across the nation were able to witness ignorance first hand at least once in their life. Meeting non-violence with extreme violence backfired, leading to increased support for the demonstrators and eventually leading to Jim Crow’s demise with the passage of the Civil Rights Act in 1964 and the Voting Rights Act in 1965.
A Job Well Done? More Like It’s Just Begun, Time For Phase Two:
Let us not forget this little tidbit either, just before his murder, Dr King had been in the process of expanding his consciousness and understanding and taking riskier opinions than he had previously or at least in public.s . Rather than basking in the major accomplishments of the Civil Rights Movement, especially for African-Americans of the South, he sought to do even more before he died, and his last efforts weren’t limited to the black community either welcoming all people regardless of religion and regardless of creed. He also came out against the Vietnam War publicly in one of his speeches, something the old Dr King would never have done for fear of rocking the boat. The Poor Peoples Campaign was open to all people regardless of race or anything like that, but it is probably my favorite speech of his .
Status Report: Where We Stand At Now
The Poor People’s campaign The plan was for a large multicultural group of poverty activists to march on the washington memorial plaza whatever and camp out there as a reminder of poverty that Congress wouldn’t be able to ignore it anymore. Sadly, Dr. King would not see this one through to completion James Earl Ray’s 30.-.06 cut his life short, and for no apparent reason other than who he is. At the time of the shooting, Dr. King and his entourage were in the middle of doing something with a document, it looked interesting<p><a href=”http://vimeo.com/3816635″>Martin Luther King, Jr: “Mountaintop” speech full length</a> from <a href=”http://vimeo.com/user907438″>Filip Goc</a> on <a href=”https://vimeo.com”>Vimeo</a>.</p>
I think it’s pretty safe to assume everyone else feels the same as me when it comes to whether we feel as though we have to really put in very much effort .get up for anyone about our sloppy levels of play lately not being acceptable anymore. Everything has been all out-of-place I’m confident in saying I still don’t recognize the idyllic locale of his dream; guess we’re all still waiting on those two tickets to paradise as it sits now and you better believe this guy desperately is in need of a tan.
Gone But Not Forgotten
Luckily, I’m not the only one whose life the great Dr. King has touched. We can rest assured that his memory will live on, the light he used to combat darkness will continue to illuminate the way for each of us committed to making this world a better place, a righteous one filled with love.
Only question is, who will join me?
Never too old to protest.
I’m glad theres at least one reporter who has a fucking brain these days and isn’t willing to just go along with whatever the Obama administration says should go, like the rest of the mainstream media that isn’t FOX News, at least.
The part he was just coming to at the end is really the most powerful and the most prescient portion of his argument and it’s what we are witnessing at the moment from the Obama administration and is something we will be forced to reconcile one way or another, especially considering how very little concern Obama has shown for his actions.
Until we show the Obama administration that we are not willing to just give up without a fight, and that we do not in fact condone it’s present course of behavior; then we should expect more and more and more egregious steps to be taken until the administration is met with some kind of response from us.
What’s your take on it? Do you think Obama is justified in doing something like that? Or do you think he has his head in the political sand and essentially has absolutely no idea whats going on in the first place?

Bill Maher Needs To Spend Some Real Time Considering Misguided Stance Toward Muslims:I have a lot of respect for Bill Maher and I agree with him on many points, enjoying the way he delivers his points with acerbic humor and sarcasm. In that sense he’s a man after my own heart, but his hardline stance on the religion of Islam is as confusing to me as someone who’s pro-life but advocates war and the death penalty; a walking contradiction unto itself sitting down, making no more sense than many of the conservative policies he’s enjoyed so much commercial success poking fun of.
For someone who’s clearly intelligent, and claims to be an atheist on top of that to suddenly begin singling out one religion as being worse than all the others is somewhat ludicrous. I mean his documentary movie “Religulous” was all about poking fun at the craziness that’s secretly all modern religions if you look hard enough or as I like to say; each organized religion is as bat-shit crazy as the next; they just take a different flavor Kool-Aid is all.
I feel Chris Mathews made an excellent point when he was recently on the show when Maher went on one of his anti-Muslim tirades, saying things like
“most Muslims-at least half of them, I think, around the world-think it is ok to kill someone if they insult the prophet. And that is a big problem. That is a clash of civilizations.”
It does make him sound like he’s giving the late Osama bin Laden everything he wanted by way of inciting a damaging and costly holy war or at least the perception of one between the United States and those of the Islamic faith; too easily dismissing people of the Islamic faith as being terrorists and alienating them in the process.
Although he typically possesses more free thought, or so I thought, than he has exhibited on this subject; it would seem he chooses not to use it, blindly accepting the Obama administration and the Bush administration before its weak rationale for the reasoning behind curtailing our civil liberties, the murder of US citizens overseas as in the case of Al-Awaki, the indefinite detention of suspected terrorists as happens at Guantanamo, and the aggressive prosecuting of whistle blowers to proportions unseen before the current administration, most notably with Bradley Manning, or the recent AP incident.
Maybe it’s the fact that he donated a million dollars to his campaign this past election and has a refusal to accept that it’s been a bad investment for him.
When I first heard him say some blatantly anti-Muslim shit on his show, I thought to myself, surely I must have misheard, he misspoke, or I missed the punchline to his joke. Maybe my overactive imagination was at work yet again, making mountains out of mole hills. Surely he would go on to vindicate himself through saying something to the contrary, maybe even a “gotcha”, or that it would be put into context, but this was not the case.
Nothing was to come in the form of rebuttal; strange given the fact I typically agree with nearly everything this guy says; it’s witty, it’s funny, it’s honest in making fun of our political reality in all of its absurdity; it’s butter.
On this issue however, it smacks of being off brand margarine, devoid of it’s fancy packaging, or any flavor, it’s easy for me to believe this shit’s not butter.
What most pisses me off, and gives me added cause to worry about is the likelihood his bigoted stance will encourage those already of a more hard-line persuasion that they are being moderate or reasonable even; in addition to potentially misleading others who have come to place faith in his political commentary as being relatively on point (just delivered comically), as is the case with myself.
I can hear their argument now, “see, even Bill Maher believes Muslims are the problem”; using it as a justification for their continued xenophobia, their discrimination, their hatred and their desire for persecuting the Muslim population.
By using his show to air these misguided and mistaken beliefs, he effectively joins the ranks of the Rush Limbaugh‘s and Glenn Beck’s and all those like them; a shock jock like Howard Stern and nothing more. Just another talking head blatantly opining without any regard for accuracy, or quality in his opinion or its contents. By choosing to spread anti Islamic hate speech, Maher only gives comfort to those who would say we truly are in the midst of a jihad.
Exceptions Rather Than The Rule:
Yes, there are concrete examples of Muslims desiring to cause us harm. Unfortunately, both 9/11 and the recent bombing of the Boston Marathon were carried out by those who professed to follow Islam.
This in and of itself does not serve to prove or to justify Mahers point as being a valid one anymore than the Westboro Baptist Church is evidence that Christianity is intolerant, or the molestation scandals involving priests would imply that all who practice Catholicism like to diddle little boys, or that it stems from their religion.
Where Maher fails, as do many of us, especially in these times of fear, is in making the effort to see the situation through the eyes of another, placing yourself in their shoes for a moment (if its possible for yourself); doing this allows us to see that deep down we aren’t so different underneath it all.
One opposing view that it would be reckless and folly for us to ignore is that of the people we have consistently rained down death upon since the year 2001. What do you suppose it is they see when they see us? Are we not Christians? Is that not violence? In terms of sheer death and destruction, the massive body count and pile of rubble we leave behind us solidify us as being the most violent and destructive society in history. period. end of point. We are more destructive than anything that has existed on this earth before us. How eager are we all to be judged by world or by god (if you believe in one) on the merits of actions we played no direct part in?
For the first time I could remember, I couldn’t help looking at Bill Maher like he was at least semi-retarded… The degree to which he attempted to defend Christianity against those heathens who practice Islam was baffling and sickening to witness in someone who supposedly flat-out doesn’t believe in it at all.
(Did Bill suddenly decide to eat the poison apple?)
I’m not sure who exactly he desires these brownie points for, or with, but I just hope his high ass knows that they’re not actually brownies or made of chocolate (I’m not sure that anybody has told him this, he must have the munchies).
I really still can’t get over how belligerent he insists on being in his new pastime of being an ignorant fuck…. he sounds just like most of his more conservative contestants who like an addict hide their guilty pleasure of racism from themselves; oblivious to it’s existence despite it being as plain as day for everyone else to see so clearly.
That very same fuck, or those very same fuck(s) I’ve heard him rail against time after time after time on his show; easily making them out to be just plain ignorant or dumb, and now it turns out he should be doing it into a mirror.
Casting a blanket characterization that all people of one religion, Islam, have a greater propensity towards violence than others is just plain retarded, especially for someone who loves talk about how they’re an atheist, and thinks that all religions are stupid.
This view is no less racist and no less discriminatory than those views of black people he looks down on as being backwards, and intolerant. Why would something apply in one instance, or fit on one hand and not fit on the other?
Prejudiced, is prejudiced, hate is hate; fear is fear; backwards is backwards; right is right; and wrong is wrong, one equals the other no matter how you slice and dice it.
That is why I was especially glad Glenn Greenwald happened to be the guest on his show this last week; checking Maher hard into the boards just as he started to get out of line.
Glenn Greenwald is the only person I’ve seen really stand up to him and challenge his views when he gets on this tangent. When it got brought up this past week or so, Bill Maher looked like he had just got owned over the entire issue having the fact he knows nothing of what he speaks laid plain before his entire audience as he got his tongue twisted and nearly had himself a little shit fit; looking notably flabbergasted from the experience.
Finally Something About the Muslim Population That Makes Sense on Real Time With Bill Maher: Glenn Greenwald
I don’t know how it is that I just really became acquainted with the work of Glenn Greenwald, but I have to say he easily offers one of the best assessments of the situation we now find ourselves in; both in terms of our eroding civil liberties and congressional and judicial oversight and the continued growth of executive power here at home as well as the increased anti-American sentiments within the Muslim world; both of which are a result of our War on Terror.
(You can follow that link to see what else I have to say on that)
If you don’t already subscribe to his RSS feed, you should and I don’t recommend that lightly.
I would like to know where you all stand on this issue; I know it’s a sensitive one which is by no means agreed upon by everyone or even most people;
So let’s get this party started and found out where everyone and their opinion is currently standing.
Nows your time to chime in if you’d like to, I know I’d like to know whether your opinions fall more in line with the host Bill Maher, or with the journalist for the Guardian, Glenn Greenwald?
Or is your take entirely your own?

But For Some Reason, This Year One Sarah Palin Took Offense For Whatever Reason And Raised Something Of A Stink In The ProcessGood, hold that thought;
That video above was one of the “offending” culprits; from this most recent White House Correspondence Dinner; I must say, I’m somewhat stumped on this one…. I know it’s not the only skit that was shown during the course of the dinner; but I just can’t see anything wrong with it, like at all.
While I’ll admit I hardly watched any of the most recent installment of this awkward dinner for awkward people, lovingly dubbed “nerd prom”, I feel fairly certain there wasn’t much going on in terms of the “edge” factor.
There exists a fairly well established modicum of respectfulness where while the line gets flirted with it’s never crossed; which is why the former Governor of Alaska’s response to it seemed so bizarre.
I’m Confident It Was Uneventful and Awkward; Just Like The Last One & Every Other One Before It
Yet, for some strange reason; as I mentioned before, Sarah Palin decided that now was as good a time as any for a wig out moment of epic proportions.
Oh the humanity! This is the last straw!
I can’t stand this stupid “nerd prom”, it’s a waste of time;
but only when I’m not invited; when that happens it’s actually quite funny.
She was wound up SO tight and seemed so passionate about it when she used the term “ass clowns” to describe those in attendance, I had to make sure it wasn’t the porn star that played Sarah Palin in the movie “Nailin Palin”; doing a double take.
Why else would the former Governor of Alaska only show this moral indignation over the practice right now? More importantly, how did she settle on “ass clowns”?
What could possibly have offended her so much as to draw such “wit” from such an unwitty person?
Could they really be jilted lovers and the reason shes upset be she wasn’t invited; she wanted to be Obama’s ass clown too?
[duh duh duh! and the plot thickens]
I thought that maybe for at least a second, it really was her in that porno that came out bearing her name and likeness right around the time of the campaign; “Nailin Palin” I believe the name was; [shrug]
It was lookin like all she needed was “Obama“, or at least a kinda sorta look-a-like; a few cameras;
then it’s lights camera action!
That must have been where the potty mouth came from, right?
Sadly enough, my investigation informed me my theory was wrong. Palin and the pornstar from “nailin Palin” are not one and the same; the porn star is still currently employed.
On A More Serious Note:
At least she’s taken something akin to the back burner for herself lately; been able to keep her stupidity relatively cordoned off via a precautionary quarantine.
No need to dumb up everyone else’s otherwise perfectly healthy polluted air on her account now is there?
This approach is in stark contrast to the mistaken hands off approach during her failed VP bid in ’08, operating under the belief “how bad could she possibly be?”
It turns out if we had tried to answer that rhetorical question, the answer would have been pretty fuckin bad man.
I’m sure John McCain wishes he had that one back.
To put it into context;
dumb shit she said in ’08, still haunts us to this day, threatening our continued survival; or ability to learn anything new from this point on; and that’s not factoring in any random words of “wisdom” she’s offered the world since then; like the recent rant about the correspondents dinner (it was about time someone stood up to those “ass clowns” and their annual dinners; it’s only so obvious they’re at the root of our problems….).
Sadly, it wasn’t just those coming into direct contact with her stupidity who began to notice the effects;
In offering her an open Mic and a podium to stand on, we ensured the effects would be felt far and wide;
Shit Went Viral
At an alarming rate, many American‘s can do nothing more than sit and watch themselves lose more of their brain function with each passing hour; not just the typical television induced brain rot either; this is something else.
Hour by hour they stand helplessly by as the lose more and more of their brain function through no fault of their own; they’ve been victimized, by the steady influx of Sarah Palin’s retarded ass comments.
Unfortunately, knowing it is not themselves to blame for their leaky and shrinking brain. It would appear that we have a first rate case of second hand dumb, (also known as “contact” dumb); in fact it’s the worst one ever recorded.
Once you’ve contracted it, the knowledge it wasn’t your own stupidity so much as your general vicinity to the stupidity of others that damned you won’t be a comforting thought.
I’d imagine it still feels pretty fucked up; kinda like getting lung cancer when you’ve never smoked in your life, but slightly less fucked up on a scale of 1-10 .
I think both parties can agree on something for once; they’ve both adopted the catchphrase “friends don’t let friends get second hand dumb”
Side-note:On a personal level, I do kinda gotta giver her props for using the term “ass clowns” not only in a complete sentence, but outside a fraternity setting (But I also have something of a potty-mouth as well, routinely making truckers blush). Well played Palin, well played; now if you could only work on your likability, you wouldn’t have to dish these jabs from the political sidelines along with the rest of yesterday’s news.

Don’t let the fact this video is from a Coca-Cola commercial fool you; looks can be deceiving, that’s just its day job.
Watch the video and take the advice to heart.
Our rights will continue to be curtailed and our interests will go on being ignored only for so long as we allow it. It’s amazing how empowering something so simple as standing up can be, but don’t take my word for it; try it and find out.
Sink Or Swim
This is a point in our history that we will look back on as coming to define our course of action for the foreseeable future. Where we go from here will determine whether we right ourselves or expedite the sinking process; either way, our ship is failing, it’s up to us and our immediate actions to determine the outcome
We now face a moral dilemma of the highest order, a crisis of conscience as we struggle to recognize something already well-known to the rest of the world. It is us and not Al Qaeda, the Taliban or Iran that is the largest terrorist organization in the world; the United States government and what it represents.
We also struggle to in our treatment of those being illegally detained at Guantanamo Bay, which is apparently still open and ready for business, of the shadiest variety; Obama’s punch drunk campaign promises to close this blight upon our nation, renouncing everything it had stood for under Cheney and Bush continues to this day; undeterred and uninhibited.
Walks Like A Terrorist:
This is the very same place where our best and brightest went to fight against terrorism and the threat of it spreading; water-boarding and torturing those they suspected as terrorists in search of answers; becoming that which they sought in the process yet never suspecting themselves.
There’s no such thing as necessary evil when in the service of good, that’s just what those that let evil into their hearts tells themselves; having become wolves in sheep’s clothing, the devil’s in the detail.
As of now, the majority of the 166 prisoners left at Guantanamo are known not to be guilty of being anything…other than shit outta luck; sorry, our apologies, better luck next life, but thanks for playing.
Having this knowledge in front of them, that they’ve been pursuing the wrong angles, torturing the wrong people and that innocent men remain incarcerated, the CIA operates with all the blazing fast speed of your common slimy garden creäture, giving a whole new meaning to snail mail…..
Despite his emphatic claims made while punch drunk adoration and the roar of the crowd, Obama opened his mouth and let whatever wanted to come out, to come out. Having shown his true colors after re-election, I already feel like asking for a refund on a purchase not yet 6 months old. Despite his beset efforts to keep the stickiness that is the situation we now face at Guantanamo, Obama will soon come to realize he will be forced to face it one way or another;
Like the prisoners, escaping this troublesome situation is not an option.
Still subjected to the inhumane and degrading treatment at the hands of their captors as they had in the beginning, despite it being general knowledge they almost certainly have no ties to any terrorists, many of the prisoners have gone on hunger strike until they gain basic human rights and are once again treated with dignity;
A Government Acting Without Reason
Unfortunately judging by the lack of government response or change in the guards actions, most sources familiar with the situation are in agreement that dignity will come to them on the other side; eminent deaths related to the strike are now highly likely.
Rather than meeting their basic demands, medical people will have them forcibly restrained as a feeding tube gets shoved down their throat and they are left tied to their bed, only to have the process repeated the next morning. This brutal treatment only increases the amount participating in the strikes, now totaling 92, over one half, ensuring the medical staff to be overworked n attempting to prevent the deaths from happening.
This situation bears a good deal of resemblance to one faced by former Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher with 9 IRA members being held in captivity that went on hunger strike until they were recognized as being political prisoners and not being held on the pretense of criminal charges; it never happened, Margaret Thatcher watched those 9 men and women starve to death and didn’t bat an eye about it…..even gaining a begrudging respect for them in the process for having done it. .
Do You Feel Lucky? Well Do Ya Punk?
Unfortunately for him, Obama can ill afford to go this route. Unlike Thatcher who at least had some semblance of a reason for holding the IRA members on at least trumped-up criminal charges, Obama can no longer even produce those to prove our continuing to hold them.
Also, when combined with the empty pledge to have already closed the base by now, and in light of the recent reports that the Boston bombing was in fact motivated by retaliation for our wars in Afghanistan and Iraq which we’ve devastated and terrorized through a campaign of indiscriminate bombing; leaving with little other than death and destruction to show for our efforts in the region aside from massive body counts and guilty consciences.
Unless he makes a stand and does the right thing for these people who have been held captive without any opportunity to legally clear themselves, subjected to various forms of torture and god knows what else; unless he does right by them, he is invited yet another Boston or worse by saying our nation is filled with Hubris and believes itself above the law, international or otherwise;
The more Obama uses tries to hide from it or deny it, the more he says we resemble nothing like a nation that stands for something; like his nobel peace prize he did not earn; we are for nothing.
In a stunning twist of irony, these prisoners stand to do the United States more damage by virtue of being incarcerated than they could ever have potentially done on the outside before or after having been made a part of this terrorist summer camp.
Unlike the bomb or their bomb plots which were a fictive, byproducts of our over-active collective imaginations, these prisoners now can do us more harm by giving up their lives peacefully while incarcerated;
dying on the hunger strike, damning us far more in the eyes of the world, even our own people wouldn’t be able to look at government the same after something like that. Revealed once and for all time, the it’s hypocritical existence filled with contradictions.
The whole world is watching President Obama, and our actions or inactions on this matter can have even the most dire effects on our own citizens, inviting domestic terrorism where there had previously been none as the events in Boston has shown us.
No longer do these United States enjoy an unlimited free pass for our actions; our policies and our actions elsewhere have consequences, some of which we may not like new concepts made aware to the American conscience no longer possessing the automatic ability to stay so blissfully ignorant to the atrocities undertaken by our very own government and their potential effects on them, and on us.
No more empty promises
No more blank checks
No more government sponsored terrorism in the name of any cause
No more blindly endorsing the empty rhetoric of our president or the atrocities actually behind them, undertaken by our own government, in all our own names.
From this point on, nobodies innocent at this stage in the game there’s blood on all our hands.

Here’s My Initial Thoughts:Obama sure talked a big game in ’08 , slightly downsized in 2012, Obama 2.012 was with its original luster…it was also a campaign I was a small part of hoping to practice what I preached; But the whole campaign something for me just felt, well, it just felt kinda off…. What should have been clue #1 No longer was he promising change; government cooperation, transparency, and efficiency; a more open and available presidency where the president could make a complete sentence, a president in touch with the will of the common person, not the corporate personhood, repatriation of our fugitive civil liberties…. hmmmmm I wonder Not really being totally gung-ho about Obama especially his foreign policy, and knowing it would be the same under either, I made what I felt was the least shitty of two shitty choices, opting to take what I could get in the form of his domestic social policies vs. their non-existence under Mitt Romney. It’s only a few months into his last and final lame duck term, and I’ve got the strong feeling I chose wrong The truth is, aside from his oratory, which is still good, but not great; certainly ranking much higher than Bush’s, he’s failed to deliver on any of these promises. Lately even his speeches have been coming up short, and falling flat and seem if anything empty, and lackluster.
Is It Time For Tough Love?
Despite having supported him on election day of ’08, and the campaign of 2012 as an intern, I have to show some tough love right now, because theres nothing I hate more than a fucking liar.
I’ve had it!
It’s not me, it’s you; let me tell you why:
No more passes, no more silence, no longer will I allow my subconscious to ignore your repeated human rights abuses, persecution of web sites internet activists and whistle-blowers, or your escalation of the drone war and War on Terror.
The belief that it’s alright if, “they’re a son of a bitch, but they’re our son of a bitch” is both mistaken, and flawed. Just as it was when we applied it to brutal dictators willing to bow to US interests; Ngo Diem, Mubarrak, or Sadaam & Bin Laden; It’s flawed in the here, and the now.
If you were really “my guy” you would not be making empty promises you have no intention to deliver on. I wouldn’t be forced to make the least shitty of two shitty choices, forced to wipe and wash up afterwards either way….
You would be about that change you so clearly stated you wished to bring, boutty-bout it, but instead;
You’ve become just another political hack and a crony.
the only difference between yourself, and a career politician, is you’re not any good at it; obviously having no political leverage or capital as your failure to secure your agenda on gun control and the budget (sequester) make evident to us. You fail to be effective at pushing for legislation many people actually want in the Senate with it’s Democrat majority, let alone the Republican House….
Your failure to do so despite the tragedy at Sandy Hook, yet the ease with which you took away or “suspended” our miranda rights in the wake of the bombing at the Boston Marathon has been most enlightening……. and appears to be your MO, your modus operandi.
You wouldn’t refuse to release the prisoners from Guatanamo, many of whom we have long known are not terrorists, to their rightful homes, having been unlawfully imprisoned and tortured for over 10 yrs…….
You wouldn’t have kill lists or claim to have the power to kill US citizens overseas with drone strikes…..
You also wouldn’t persecute anyone bringing it from the darkness of shadow into the light, by putting it online, speaking about it publicly, or otherwise making it available for the American people to find……
Far from the shire, you now sit atop Mt.Doom gazing at the fire, finally able to destroy the one ring….and you can’t do it, placing it snugly back upon your finger, fading away into invisibility, just like the you I thought we’d once come to know.
No longer are you behind those ideals and beliefs as myself as you once were, or claimed to be. A born again Christian, only in reverse; its like you became a Jehova Witness goin door to door to spread the word on nights and weekends.
Keep that gospel, drink your bullshit and your lies down with that Jim Jones Kool-Aid for all I give a fuck;
Just stuff it.
Your failure to enact any meaningful legislation, or to step above the fray and carry yourself with honesty and dignity in addressing the American people, your secrecy, half-truth, white lies and those of the bold faced variety have taken their toll on me, and on all of us for that matter.
The only transparency you’re concerned with is the ability to carry out an agenda and it’s policies so transparent nobody else can see it. The only rights are those you take away and give to the executive branch of government so you may better remain within the shadows, safely invisible while wearing the ring you once wished to destroy and now adore.
The only problem is, you’re not Tolkien, this is not “The Lord of the Rings” and there is no Gollum saving you from your poor choices and ultimate frailty of your will; There are no Elven ships to take you from these shores to Vallinor to save you from the burden of your choices it was a fictional fantasy;
There’s just us,
For you to restore your faith to me, to us, all you must do is make good on those words you speak, as opposed to them being merely empty words. That is the true measure of a man and where you consistently come up short. Until you honor your word as your bond, until you become worthy of the Nobel prize you won, until you step from the shadows, bringing your actions clearly into the light-as they should be, until you stop using the justice department to unjustly persecute those who embarrass you by telling people the truth you’re unwilling to tell; you are not a leader, or a man.
In the meantime,
I’ve had it!

It appears that that somebody forgot everybody’s watching when you’re online….
There’s Nothing Worse Than A Poor Winner;
Really, there honestly isn’t. When you’re having your ass royally handed to you, as we obviously are by our politicians; the last thing you want to hear is them gloat about it. I’d like to think that for the most part I know how to lose with style and grace, minus the occasional exception that’s bound to happen at some point. But this, gloating, is something that will instantly send me over the top. It’s like he’s doing an end-zone celebration; except those were actually kinda funny, they didn’t make me sick in the stomach.
What’s It To Him If We Want Our Privacy Online Over CISPA: He Still Gets Our Check Anyways.
Regardless of what these politicians do while they hold their elected office, the one we elected them to on the first place, they get paid. The more arbitrary and nonsensical the matter, the better, far less likely to end up being settled. As a whole, the class of havenots are beginning to be treated as second class citizens by our very own government… What good will any of those rights we squabbled and we fought for so long and hard have be to us if we never stand up and use them? What good is free speech when you remain silent? Silence is the same as consent. I’ve already talked in some detail about why the government should have the ability to look through our digital belongings online when it can’t do the same physically? The FBI had trouble enough without all of the digitization to worry about, having a history for pursuing it’s own agenda in how it enforces the law, a fact that is proven again and again throughout history.
And this was before there was any potential bribe involved which is just effed up to a whole different level. It goes to that whole being a sore winner again. …. Instead of getting dejected or repeating things I left better said earlier, I issue a challenge instead
Are we capable of doing what’s necessary?
Be The Judge, Be the Jury; But Stay The Execution:
It is ultimately left to us to decide his fate for his transgressions; and by that, I mean those of you in Michigan, of course. If he’s your representative recall him, or help to put up national pressure on him and the rest of government until it becomes too much for them to deny, or to bear. If we opt to look the other way during this glaring example of political graft run rampant; will we ever?
Are we always going to sit back and wait for these politicians to uphold their end of our bargain (Obama‘s civil liberties track record is perfect example) before we make them? We can’t sacrifice our interests or put them on hold because of things like election seasons or political expediency; election or not, difficult or not; we still pay them, and therefore, they still represent us.
Are we gonna end up as one of those “my lawyer fucked me” cases in Shawshank?
